1997年加拿大生肖牛票种类及数量
1997年1月7日，加拿大邮政局发行第一轮生肖票中的第一枚：“牛”票，面值$0.45CAD，同时发行小型张，面值$0.90CAD（两枚票联体），海报小型张延迟到2月7日发行。邮票面值为国内邮资，小型张面值为国际邮资，海报小型张为12枚小型张联体大张（此种邮品每次才发售几万套，极具艺术和收藏价值）。
邮票设计： Ivy Li、Brenda Tong，票图作者是旅居加拿大的中国画家刘向平，当年他在4位加拿大画家和5名中国画家的竞争中，脱颖而出，邮票印刷：Ashton-Potter Canada Limited.,发行原地：Vancouver。
牛年邮票，寥寥数笔勾画出牛的轮廓，金黄色背景托出一个大红方门贴福字，红色和金色是邮票上的主要颜色，是中国人庆祝活动所用的传统色彩，表示快乐、祝你好运和财富。小型张的扇形设计极具中国韵味，清素雅致，牛的轮廓很可爱，也很有牛气，“牛年”和“福”的书法也很漂亮。
加拿大的生肖票用三种文字表示（英、法、中），很有特点，这也体现了加国多元文化的特色！
