“So much more than I deserve
Is everything you’ve given me
You will never let me go…”

“And through the sunshine and rain
through the heartache and pain
I know you’ll always remain in my heart
and I know wherever I go
And whatever I do
You are forever the same
You will never change” – V*enna

This is a portion from a song called “Sunshine and Rain” by V*enna. It is a song that continues to touch my heart whenever I hear it. It’s a reminder that God’s love is always there, no matter what. Sometimes I have really bad, really miserable days, I know that when I sit down and talk to my Father, he would never turn away or abandon me. I know I am unworthy of his love, but his unconditional love even accepts sinners like me. He stays forever in my heart, and He will never change.

“…so much more than I deserve, is everything you’ve given me…”
What does a sinner deserve? Most people would say, “They deserve a dose of their own medicine” but do they realise that they are talking about themselves. We have done so many things to grieve our mighty Lord and “Best Friend.” We have betrayed him and others, lied to others, and have done so many unrighteous things! God doesn’t have to forgive us, nor did he have to send his Son, Jesus to come to Earth to die for us! However, God simply loved us; His love is deeper than the deepest oceans, higher than the skies, and wider than the entire universe. He has given so much, lost so much. Yet, to this day, God is planning the day when all creation stands before him, and he opens the door to him glorious realm. That is way more than what a sinner like me could ever deserve, but God’s love for us is so great that he could even forgive me!

“…you will never let me go…”
Our wickedness and our evils have not caused our merciful God to forsake us. If our God was like any other gods, then he would’ve forsaken us long ago, but he isn’t. He’s the only true and living God, who gave up his Son for us. He looks after us at all times, and is in our hearts. He will always help us when we need help, and listens to every prayer that we made. Our Father is so loving and giving!

“…and through the sunshine and rain…”
The flowers blooming in springtime gives us a hope that the dark and dreary winter is finally over, and the warm, delicious summer days are near. These days are days that we should spend rejoicing that our Father had created summer days for us to enjoy. Sometimes, we feel that our lives are always short of something, and we have nothing to rejoice over. What about the flowers and sunshine and rainbows that God made to let us take pleasure in? We should go and live our lives fully and as perfect as can be. Whatever God gives us is what he thinks is the best for our lives. If it means a day in the “rain,” then we should rejoice at the fact that maybe one day we will be able to learn from this day in the “rain.” We should rejoice in all things, in all proposes God has for us.

“…and through the heartache and pain…”
Sometimes life doesn’t take you in the direction that you want it to, but that’s okay. We know that one day we will be reunited with our Father in heaven. The suffering on Earth that we suffer will never be equal to what Jesus had to bear. He was innocent, yet he was tried and sentenced like a murderer. It isn’t fair at all! He is more innocent than we could ever be! So always remember that no matter what the world slaps in you face, just grin and bear it like Jesus did. Don’t blame God for your misfortunes, because God knows that whatever happens, you can get through it with His help; just pray and give thanks for what you already have, and God will reward you for your faith in heaven. Give all your life to God, because the only life worth living is a life for God.

“…I know you’ll always remain in my heart…”
Our Heavenly Father is always there in our hearts, ready to comfort and help us through our crises. We need not to be afraid, but be assured that He is always there, no matter what. He helps us through the toughest struggles, and also celebrates with us in periods of happiness. He loves, cares and also forgives. It’s an honour to have him in my heart.

“…and I know wherever I go, and whatever I do, you are forever the same, you will never change…”
God is loving, caring, full of mercy and righteous no matter what we do and where we are. He is still the same Lord who breathed the spirits into Adam and Eve those thousands of years ago. He is still the same God who led Moses and the Israelites out of Egypt, and gave hope to a failing country through David. He will stay the same wonderful Lord as he was to His people centuries ago. He will never change.
