On the day of Feb. 27, 2009, at the meeting of all the investors of Weizhen Tang Corporation (WTC), evolving from the former WeiZhen Tang Investment & Information Consultation Company, Mr. Tang launched a shocking statement that the company suffered great loss and faced severe financial crisis in the financial market. The rumor of the company having stranded in fund shortage over the public for a stretch of time came true at last. Mr.Tang’s financial ship limped to its termination with a total of 260 investors were subject to a crushing blow and dragged a miserable abyss.

Mr. Tang’s financial ship raised anchor in 1997. After a dozen of years’  waggling-sail, the WTC had established its business presence in North America, China, and other markets around the world, engaged in the management of PE funds and hedge funds, and invested in stocks, foreign exchanges, futures, options and mutual funds on Wall Street and Stock Markets in China and HongKong. But this gigantic ship was marooned eventually by Mr.Tang steering the ship with the ploy of Ponzi Scheme that crippled its fund-chain and knocked out the whole financial system.

The inkling of fund-shortage by constantly using the later investors’ money to pay the former investors’ money and profits, without operating in the financial markets for many years showed its trace. It only was confined to few seniors in the company at begining, including the woman, Mr.Tang’s major money-raiser, who constantly lobbied and ushered newcomers to put their money into Mr.Tang’s cash-pool. By sealing off any adverse effect to the investors, the company kept to normal running seemingly. Meanwhile, Doing their best to keep up incoming money, the company plied its investors, whatever they were old and new, with 1% profit by their invested money a week while offering more bonuses for the money-raisers. But Few insiders began to coerce Mr. Tang to pay their many back, and some successfully did it. One of the victims said that he and other investors were unaware of the exact situation until they were told at the meeting.     “Actually, just now, they told us that the company lost all the money in the financial market,” he said. “Mr.Tang never told us what the issue was, All he told us was there was no money left on the account.”

The ship was grounded and sank at last…
